Hello! I am a queer, nonbinary storyteller who uses whimsy and humor to inspire and connect with readers on their own journeys towards becoming their most authentic selves. (I use they/them pronouns). My childhood was spent in New Jersey with my nose stuck in a book and a wild imagination that transformed my backyard into faraway places. Then I went to the Fashion Institute of Technology for my B.F.A. in Illustration with a minor in English so I could bring my stories to life. Now I put those worlds on paper using digital media to create books for other children to stick their noses into.

When not working on picture books and graphic novels, I teach digital painting and watercolor for illustration at Montclair State University. I have also taught character design and picture books. Additionally, I currently work with Boyds Mills (formerly the Highlights Foundation), monitoring their online classes and co-teaching classes in picture books, graphic novels, and chapter books. I am a member of SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators) and previously volunteered as my local chapter’s Illustrator Coordinator for 5 years. One of my passions is mentoring aspiring illustrators, and I mentored through the PBRising Stars Mentorship Program in 2023-2025.
I've worked with HarperCollins, Quirk Books, Kids Can Press, Little, Brown Books For Young Readers, and Simon & Schuster. For a complete list of the books I've written and/or illustrated, please see my books page!
When not teaching or creating books for children, I enjoy dying my hair every color of the rainbow, making stickers, spending too much time at independent bookstores, playing video games, and traveling often on trains. I spend my down time with my partner and their five kids, a dog named Paddington, and two fluffy cats named Marmalade and Marshmallow.
