Hello! I am a storyteller who uses whimsy and humor to inspire and connect with readers on their own journeys towards becoming their most authentic selves.Though I have lived in New Jersey my whole life, my childhood was spent with my nose stuck in a book and a wild imagination that transformed my backyard into faraway places. Then I went to the Fashion Institute of Technology for my B.F.A. in Illustration with a minor in English so I could bring my stories to life. Now I put those worlds on paper using digital media to create books for other children to stick their noses into.
I find my inspiration in memories of my childhood, the outdoors, anything colorful, and traveling, especially visiting my many cute nephews and nieces. When not creating stories and art for children, I like to paint flowers and patterns and have taken several classes at the Fashion Institute in Textile and Surface Design.
My debut picture book as author and illustrator, titled Blob, comes out in Fall 2021 with HarperCollins with a second book to follow.
I have been a member of SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators) since 2012, and I am also a member of the 12x12 challenge, a challenge to write 12 picture books in 12 months. I currently volunteer as the Illustrator Coordinator for the NJ chapter of SCBWI and as a moderator on the weekly #kidlitart chat on twitter.
